Eyres Monsell is a council estate in the South of Leicester, with over 12,000 people living on it and no gospel church. Since 2013, Dan and Jamie James have lived there and have been praying for a Christian witness on the estate. Dan was a primary teacher in one of the schools on the estate, and in 2018 he became Assistant Pastor of Avenue Community Church, with the hope of planting a church in Eyres Monsell in the future. In 2019 we began to gather a team of people committed to living on the estate, sharing the gospel here and beginning to “make disciples” in line with The Great Commission. We are currently really excited about the plans God has for this part of Leicester and we are convinced that God has “many people in this city” (Acts 18:10)
